From medals passed down through generations to well-worn jerseys and childhood Cúl Camps backpacks, these seemingly ordinary items hold powerful memories and remarkable stories. Drawing on extensive research and travels across the island of Ireland, Dr Doyle will share insights into the personal and collective histories revealed through GAA memorabilia, as well as the challenges of preserving heritage through objects.

Led in an inclusive and welcoming setting, the event is open to all ages and backgrounds. It will resonate with those who have personal memories of turf-cutting as well as those discovering the bog’s rich heritage for the first time. CCÉ Craobh Termainn Mhic Oirc is delighted to invite you to join us at An Creggan on Saturday 13th September, 11am – 1pm, for a fascinating journey into the history and magic of the harp. Hear tales of the story of the Lost Harp of Termon, hidden in a wall centuries ago, and uncover its connections to Irish mythology, ancient traditions, and local heritage.
Experience beautiful live performances from talented harpists Cassie Campbell and Áine Maguire, who will bring the rich sounds of the Gaelic harp to life. Enjoy enchanting melodies while learning about the role of the harp in Irish culture and folklore.
This interactive workshop also gives you the chance to try the harp yourself and even learn a simple tune! Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply curious, come along and immerse yourself in music, history, and hands-on fun.
