Music, Mythology & Community Celebration
The streets of Omagh will come alive this St Patrick’s Weekend with a vibrant celebration of music, mythology, dance and colour on 17 March 2026. Celebrated under the theme Music & Mythology, this year’s programme brings together traditional musicians, dancers, performers and local groups to create a festival experience that reflects the spirit of the County Town.
Whether you are joining for the full weekend or visiting for the day itself, Omagh offers an energetic atmosphere, rich cultural programming and a warm welcome for everyone.

Music Filling the Streets
Festival-goers can expect the unmistakable sound of Irish traditional music echoing throughout Omagh town centre. Tyrone Trad Musicians will lead a powerful Super Session featuring some of the county’s finest traditional talent, bringing together flutes, fiddles and pipes in a lively showcase of local music.
Highlights across the town centre include roaming performers bringing music to every corner, authentic Irish traditional sessions hosted in local hospitality venues, and energetic displays from Highland and Irish dancers. St Eugene’s Brass and Reed Band will perform outside Danske Bank, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Cultural Programme at Strule Arts Centre
In partnership with Dún Uladh Cultural and Heritage Centre, a family-friendly cultural programme will run throughout the day at Strule Arts Centre. This welcoming indoor space will host live traditional music and song, Irish and Highland dancing, and St Patrick’s themed arts and crafts.
Families can also enjoy a Celtic Mythology Sand Mandala workshop with Thai Arts NI, alongside storytelling sessions and interactive activities designed to engage children and adults alike. It offers the perfect opportunity to experience Ireland’s heritage in a creative and accessible way.
St Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade
The St Patrick’s Day Carnival Parade will be a centrepiece of the celebrations, created through a series of community workshops supported by the Arts Council and the “Housing for All” Shared Housing Programme. The parade will showcase the creativity of local groups, schools and organisations, celebrating community pride and the vibrant spirit of the County Town.
Thousands are expected to line the streets as the parade travels from South West College along Drumragh Avenue, through the town centre and past the Courthouse, John’s Street, Church Street, George Street, High Street and Bridge Street, before returning to South West College.
Supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council alongside housing partners including Alpha Housing, Arbour Housing Association and the Housing for All Shared Housing Programme, the event reflects a shared commitment to bringing people together in a welcoming and inclusive setting.
