The theme of this years Literature of Irish Exile is "Military, migration and Mid-Tyrone"

Welcome to the 26th Literature of Irish Exile seminar.

Join us in person for two talks on the subject of "Military, migration and Mid-Tyrone". We will look into examples of those who have migrated and served in the military primarily in World War One. We are delighted to have two speakers who will delve into local families affected by both migration and war.

Laura Kwasniewska - Has recently published "From Pastures Green, Mid-Tyrone in the Great War 1914-1918". It contains biographies of many who were from Mid-Tyrone and their experience in the Great War. Laura will look at those who migrated from Mid-Tyrone and played a part in the war.

Leslie Craig, local Dunamanagh historian, will look at family letters which touch on the Great War and Migration. These local gems will showcase personal recollections of the war and the migrant journey and process.

Refreshments will be served from 10am with the talks to begin at 10.15am. The event should be finished before 12.30pm.
