Hosted by the Department for Communities, EHOD is Northern Ireland’s largest celebration of built, cultural and natural heritage, offering free access to hundreds of events, historic sites, and unique experiences across the region.

Whether you’re interested in architecture, archaeology, local history, industrial heritage, traditional crafts, family activities, or hidden places normally closed to the public, EHOD offers something for everyone.

This Year’s Theme: Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine

The 2026 theme invites organisers and visitors to explore the stories behind the places they value most, highlighting not only buildings and landscapes, but also the traditions, skills, memories, and communities that give them meaning.

Through tours, talks, exhibitions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, EHOD 2026 will showcase how heritage can be protected, celebrated, and reimagined for future generations.
