Singing star Dolores Keane is making her comeback tour – under the new management of MC Promotions, Dolores says “I’m back singing better than ever and really looking forward to travelling the long and winding roads wherever they lead me.
Most people will remember Liam McGrath’s superb film about Dolores Keane which was shown on RTÉ not so long ago. In it Dolores spoke of health issues and other challenges but is now happy to leave them all behind her as she makes her remarkable comeback.
Dolores has a unique, distinctive, soulful melodious voice that moves every audience whose presence she graced. Few Irish artists of the past half-century could interpret the death of culture and the fathomless loss of emigration in the space of a four-minute song as well as she could. Dolores has played all over the world including two appearances in Carnegie Hall in New York something not many performers can make claim to.
Dolores grew up in Caherlistrane, Co. Galway an area with a rich musical and singing tradition. Dolores, just like all the Keane family, was singing before she could speak. She talks about her Aunt and how the songs she sings today were handed down from generation to generation.
