Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with South West College and Omagh Chamber of Commerce, is delighted to announce free parking at South West College Omagh Campus on selected dates this December.

This initiative, developed in collaboration with local businesses, aims to ease access to Omagh town centre during the busy Christmas season. Free parking will be available on:

• Saturdays 14 and 21 December 2024 from 10am to 6pm
• Sundays 15 and 22 December 2024 from 1pm to 6pm

A Collaborative Effort to Support the Local Community

Welcoming the initiative, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry, said:
“At Christmas, our towns and villages see a wonderful increase in footfall, and we hope this free parking offer will encourage residents and visitors to enjoy all that Omagh has to offer.

This initiative demonstrates the Council’s commitment to supporting the local economy and working collaboratively with partner organisations. By making shopping more convenient, we hope to inspire more people to shop local and support our businesses during this vital time of year.”

South West College Principal and CEO, Celine McCartan, expressed her support for the project:
“South West College is proud to partner with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council on initiatives that strengthen community ties. We are delighted to support their efforts to bring residents and visitors into Omagh town centre this Christmas.”

John Edgar, President of Omagh Chamber of Commerce, added:

Giving Back to the Community

In addition to the free parking, South West College staff and students will volunteer their time on these dates to collect donations for the College’s nominated charities, spreading goodwill and festive cheer.
